حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ حُبَابٍ، حَدَّثَهُمْ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَقْبَلَ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ - رضى الله عنهما - عَلَيْهِمَا قَمِيصَانِ أَحْمَرَانِ يَعْثُرَانِ وَيَقُومَانِ فَنَزَلَ فَأَخَذَهُمَا فَصَعِدَ بِهِمَا الْمِنْبَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ " صَدَقَ اللَّهُ { إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلاَدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ } رَأَيْتُ هَذَيْنِ فَلَمْ أَصْبِرْ " . ثُمَّ أَخَذَ فِي الْخُطْبَةِ .
English Translation
Hadrat Buraydah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was delivering a khutbah to us when Hadrat Hasan and Hadrat Husayn (may Allah be well pleased with them both) came wearing red shirts, stumbling and getting up (as they walked). He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came down (from the minbar) and picked them up, then ascended the minbar with them. Then he said: "Allah spoke the truth: 'Your wealth and your children are but a trial.' I saw these two and could not be patient." Then he resumed the khutbah.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت بُریدہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہمیں خطبہ دے رہے تھے — اتنے میں حضرت حسن اور حضرت حسین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما آئے — ان پر سرخ قمیصیں تھیں — ٹھوکر کھاتے اور اٹھتے (چل رہے تھے) — آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (منبر سے) اترے اور انہیں اٹھا لیا — ان کے ساتھ منبر پر تشریف لائے — پھر ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ نے سچ فرمایا: اِنَّمَآ اَمْوَالُکُمْ وَاَوْلَادُکُمْ فِتْنَۃٌ (تمہارے مال اور اولاد تو آزمائش ہیں) — میں نے ان دونوں کو دیکھا تو صبر نہ کر سکا — پھر خطبے میں مشغول ہوئے۔
