Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8810 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ ثنا مَنْصُورٌ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «إِنِّي لَأَحْسِبُ عُمَرَ قَدْ رُفِعَ مَعَهُ يَوْمَ مَاتَ تِسْعَةُ أَعْشَارِ الْعِلْمِ وَإِنِّي لَأَحْسِبُ عَلْمَ عُمَرَ لَوْ وُضِعَ فِي كِفَّةِ الْمِيزَانِ وَعَلْمُ مَنْ بَعْدَهُ لَرَجَحَ عَلَيْهِ عَلْمُ عُمَرَ ؓ »
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abdullah said: 'I consider that on the day Umar died, nine-tenths of knowledge was raised up with him. And I consider that if the knowledge of Umar were placed in one pan of a scale and the knowledge of those after him in the other, the knowledge of Umar would outweigh it, may Allah be pleased with him.'
