Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2743 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ كَانَا جَالِسَيْنِ فَمَرَّتْ جِنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَلَمْ يَقُمِ الْآخَرُ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا «أَلَمْ يَقُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟» فَقَالَ الْآخَرُ «بَلَى ثُمَّ قَعَدَ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Al-Hasan ibn 'Ali and Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting together when a funeral procession passed by. One of them stood up and the other remained seated. The one who stood said: "Did not the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stand?" The other said: "Yes, but then he sat (meaning he later abandoned the practice)."
