Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1450 حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ عَنْ مَرْزُوقٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّامِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الشَّامِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ثَوْبَانَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَصَابَتْ أَحَدَكُمْ فَإِنَّ الْحُمَّى قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَلْيُطْفِئْهَا عَنْهُ بِالْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ جَارِيًا مُسْتَقْبِلَ جَرْيَةَ الْمَاءِ وَلْيَقُلِ اللهُمَّ صَدِّقْ رَسُولَكَ وَاشْفِ عَبْدَكَ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ قَبْلَ طُلُوع�� الشَّمْسِ ولْيَغْمِسْ فِيهِ ثَلَاثَ غَمَسَاتٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي خَمْسٍ فَفِي سَبْعٍ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي سَبْعٍ فَفِي تِسْعٍ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَكَادُ أَنْ تُجَاوِزَ التِّسْعَ بِإِذْنِ اللهِ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When fever befalls one of you — for fever is a piece of the fire of Hell — let him extinguish it from himself with cold flowing water, facing the current, and let him say: 'O Allah, confirm Your Messenger and heal Your servant,' after Fajr and before sunrise. Let him immerse himself in it three times. If he is not cured in five, then in seven. If he is not cured in seven, then in nine. For it hardly ever exceeds nine, by the permission of Allah."
