Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11903 حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ {إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللهِ وَالْفَتْحُ} حَتَّى خَتَمَ السُّورَةَ قَالَ نُعِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَفْسُهُ حِينَ نَزَلَتْ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ بِأَشَدِّ مَا كَانَ قَطُّ اجْتِهَادًا فِي أَمْرِ الْآخِرَةِ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ «جَاءَ الْفَتْحُ وَنَصْرُ اللهِ وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ؟ قَالَ «قَوْمٌ رُقَيْقَةٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ لَيِّنَةٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْفِقْهُ يَمَانٍ»

Ibn Abbas said: When the verse {When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest} [110:1] was revealed until the end of the surah, he said: 'The Prophet (peace be upon him) was informed of his impending death when it was revealed.' He then exerted himself more than ever in matters of the Hereafter. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said after that: 'The conquest has come and the victory of Allah, and the people of Yemen have come.' A man asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, who are the people of Yemen?' He said: 'A people whose hearts are tender, whose hearts are soft. Faith is Yemeni and understanding (fiqh) is Yemeni.'
