الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abbas said: 'If you can manage that none of you goes out on the morning of Eid al-Fitr without having eaten, then do so.' He (Ata) said: 'I have not stopped eating before going out since I heard that from Ibn Abbas. I eat from the tip of a tarifah.' I asked: 'What is tarifah?' He said: 'Thin bread.' 'Or I drink milk or nabidh (date drink) or water.' I said: 'What do you base this on?' He said: 'I heard — I think from the Prophet (peace be upon him) — he said they used not to go out until late morning, so they would say: Let us eat so that we are not rushed from the prayer.' He said: 'And sometimes I would go out having tasted nothing but water.' Ibn Abbas is the one who said this.
