Ibn Abbas narrated that when the mutual imprecation was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), Asim spoke about it, then left. A man from his people came to him and mentioned that he found a man with his wife. Asim said: 'I was only tested with this because of what I said.' He took him to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and informed him of what he had found with his wife. That man was yellowish, with little flesh and straight hair, while the one he claimed to have found with his wife was reddish and full-bodied. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'O Allah, make it clear.' She gave birth to a child resembling the one her husband said he found with her. The Messenger of Allah performed the mutual imprecation between them. A man in the gathering said to Ibn Abbas: 'Is she the one about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If I were to stone a woman without clear evidence, I would have stoned this one"?' Ibn Abbas said: 'No, that was a woman who used to openly commit sin in Islam.'
