وعن أبي أمامة، رضي الله عنه قال: دعا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، بدعاء كثير لم نحفظ منه شيئًا، قلنا: "يا رسول الله دعوت بدعاء كثير لم نحفظ منه شيئا،" فقال: "ألا أدلكم على ما يجمع ذلك كله؟ تقول: "اللهم إني أسألك من خير ما سألك منه نبيك محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأعوذ بك من شر ما استعاذ منه نبيك محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأنت المستعان، وعليك البلاغ، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله". رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Umamah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) made many supplications which we did not memorize. We said to him: "O Beloved Messenger of Allah! You have made many supplications of which we do not remember anything." He said, "Shall I tell you a comprehensive prayer? Say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma sa'alaka minhu nabiyyuka Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)un sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa 'a'udhu bika min sharri mas-ta'adha minhu nabiyyuka Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)un sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa Antal-Musta'anu, wa 'alaikal-balaghu, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (O Allah, I beg to You the good which Your Beloved Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) begged of You; and I seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Beloved Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) sought refuge. You are the One from Whom help is sought and Your is the responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or strength except with Allah the Exalted, the Great."'
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابو امامہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے بہت سی دعائیں فرمائیں جن میں سے ہم کچھ بھی یاد نہ رکھ سکے۔ ہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے بہت دعائیں فرمائیں ہم کچھ بھی یاد نہ رکھ سکے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: کیا میں تمہیں ایسی بات نہ بتاؤں جو ان سب کو جامع ہو؟ کہو: اللھم انی اسالک من خیر ما سالک منہ نبیک محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم، واعوذ بک من شر ما استعاذ منہ نبیک محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم، وانت المستعان وعلیک البلاغ، ولا حول ولا قوة الا باللہ (اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے وہ خیر مانگتا ہوں جو تیرے نبی محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مانگی اور اس شر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جس سے تیرے نبی محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے پناہ مانگی۔ تو ہی مدد کرنے والا ہے اور تجھ ہی سے پہنچنا ہے اور گناہ سے بچنے اور نیکی کی توفیق صرف اللہ کی طرف سے ہے)۔ (رواہ ترمذی، اور فرمایا: حدیث حسن ہے)
