عن أبي هريرة ، قَالَ : جاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبيِّ فَقَالَ : يَا رسولَ الله ، أيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أعْظَمُ أجْرَاً ؟ قَالَ : « أنْ تَصَدَّقَ وَأنتَ صَحيحٌ شَحيحٌ ، تَخشَى الفَقرَ وتَأمُلُ الغِنَى ، وَلا تُمهِلْ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغتِ الحُلقُومَ قُلْتَ لِفُلان كذا ولِفُلانٍ كَذا ، وقَدْ كَانَ لِفُلانٍ » . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيهِ .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) said:There came a man to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Beloved Messenger of Allah, which charity is the most rewardable?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "That you should give charity (in a state when you are) healthy and stingy and fear poverty, hoping to become rich (charity in such a state of health and mind is the best). And you must not defer (charity to such a length) that you are about to die and would be saying: 'This is for so-and-so, and this for so-and-so.' Lo! It has already come into (the possession of) so-and- so"..
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں آیا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کون سا صدقہ سب سے زیادہ اجر والا ہے؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب تو تندرست ہو اور بخل کا خیال ہو، فقر سے ڈرتا ہو اور غنی ہونے کی امید رکھتا ہو تب صدقہ کرے۔ اور اتنی دیر نہ کر کہ جب جان حلق میں آ جائے تو کہے: فلاں کو اتنا اور فلاں کو اتنا، حالانکہ وہ تو فلاں کا ہو چکا ہوتا ہے۔ (متفق علیہ)
