Narrated 'Alqama (may Allah be pleased with him): I used to walk along with 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) at Mina, when 'Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) met 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and stood conversing with him. So 'Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman! Should we not marry you to a young girl who might remind you of something of your bygone youth?" So 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "If you say that, then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to us, 'O company of youth! Whoever of you is able to bear the responsibility of a household should marry, for it lowers the eyes and guards the private parts (from fornication and the like); and whoever is not able (for it) should fast, for it is like castration for him.'"
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا علقمہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ منیٰ میں چلا جاتا تھا کہ عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ ملے اور ان سے کھڑے ہو کر باتیں کرنے لگے۔ پس سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے کہا کہ اے ابوعبدالرحمن! ہم تمہارا نکاح ایسی نوجوان لڑکی سے نہ کر دیں کہ وہ تمہیں تمہاری گزری ہوئی عمر میں سے کچھ یاد دلا دے؟ تو سیدنا عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے کہا کہ اگر تم یہ کہتے ہو تو ہم سے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا ہے کہ اے جوانوں کے گروہ! جو تم میں سے گھر بسانے کی طاقت رکھتا ہو تو چاہئے کہ نکاح کرے، اس لئے کہ وہ آنکھوں کو خوب نیچا کر دیتا ہے اور فرج کو (زنا وغیرہ سے) بچا دیتا ہے اور جو (اس کی) طاقت نہ رکھتا ہو تو روزے رکھے کہ یہ اس کے لئے گویا خصی کرنا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 794]
