Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when an Ansari companion came and greeted him and then began to leave. So he asked: O Ansari brother! How is my brother Sa'd? He said: He is well. He said: Which of you will visit him? (Saying this) the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up, and we stood up with him, and we were more than ten men. We had no shoes, nor socks, nor caps, nor tunics (this was the perfect asceticism of the Companions and their indifference to the world), and we walked through that pebbly ground until we reached him. And those who were with Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) moved aside, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and those people who had come with him went to him. الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما روایت کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ انصاری صحابی آیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سلام کیا اور پھر واپس جانے لگا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ اے انصاری بھائی! میرا بھائی سعد کیسا ہے؟ اس نے عرض کیا کہ اچھا ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم میں سے کون ان کی عیادت کرتا ہے؟ (یہ کہہ کر) آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکھڑے ہو گئے اور ہم بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ کھڑے ہو گئے اور ہم سے زیادہ آدمی تھے، نہ ہمارے پاس جوتے تھے اور نہ موزے اور نہ ٹوپیاں اور نہ کرتے (یہ کمال زہد تھا صحابہ کا اور دنیا سے بیزاری تھی) اور ہم اس کنکریلی زمین میں چلے جاتے تھے یہاں تک کہ ان تک پہنچے۔ اور جو لوگ سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس تھے وہ ہٹ گئے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماور وہ لوگ جو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ آئے تھے ان کے پاس گئے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 451]
