Narrated Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made a small chamber of palm leaves and the like, or of a reed mat, and came and began to pray in it. Many Companions came and began to pray following him. Zayd bin Thabit says: Then one night many Companions came, and he delayed and did not come out to them, and the people raised their voices toward him and threw pebbles at the door. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to them in anger and said, "Had this state of yours continued, I feared that this prayer would become obligatory upon you. Pray in your homes, for apart from the obligatory prayer, the best prayer of a person is the one he prays at home (as it is far from show)." And in another narration: The Prophet (peace be upon him) made a small chamber in the mosque with a mat. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 374]
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کھجور کے پتوں وغیرہ کا یا بورئیے کا ایک حجرہ بنایا اور آ کر اس میں نماز پڑھنے لگے۔ بہت سے صحابہ کرام آئے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی اقتداء میں نماز پڑھنے لگے۔ سیدنا زید بن ثابت کہتے ہیں: پھر ایک رات بہت سے صحابہ آئے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دیر کی اور ان کی طرف نہ نکلے اور لوگوں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی طرف آوازیں بلند کیں اور دروازہ پر کنکریاں ماریں تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمان کی طرف غصہ سے نکلے اور ان سے فرمایا کہ تمہاری یہ حالت ایسی ہی رہتی تو مجھے گمان ہو گیا تھا کہ یہ نماز بھی تم پر فرض ہو جائے گی۔ تم اپنے گھروں میں نماز پڑھو اس لئے کہ سوائے فرض کے آدمی کی بہتر نماز وہی ہے جو گھر میں پڑھے۔ (کہ یہ ریا سے دور ہے)۔ ایک دوسری روایت میں ہے کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے چٹائی سے مسجد میں ایک حجرہ بنایا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 374]
