Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever eats onion or garlic, let him keep away from us," or he said, "let him keep away from our mosque and sit in his house." Once a pot was brought to him (peace be upon him) which contained vegetables, and he (peace be upon him) found in it an (unpleasant) smell, so he asked, "What has been put in it?" When he (peace be upon him) was informed, he (peace be upon him) said, "Take it to such-and-such Companion." When he (peace be upon him) saw that he too disliked eating it (because the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, had not eaten it), he (peace be upon him) said, "Eat it, for I confer privately with one with whom you do not (that is, the angels)."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جو شخص پیاز یا لہسن کھائے تو وہ ہم سے جدا رہے یا فرمایا کہ ہماری مسجد سے جدا رہے اور اپنے گھر بیٹھے۔ ایک مرتبہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ایک ہنڈیا لائی گئی جس میں ترکاریاں تھیں، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس میں بدبو پائی تو پوچھا کہ اس میں کیا ڈالا ہے؟ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو معلوم ہوا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس کو فلاں صحابی کے پاس لے جاؤ۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دیکھا کہ اس نے بھی اس کا کھانا برا سمجھا (اس وجہ سے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے نہیں کھایا) تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تو کھا لے کیونکہ میں تو اس سے سرگوشی کرتا ہوں جس سے تو نہیں کرتا (یعنی فرشتوں سے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 252]
