It is narrated from Salim ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that he used to say: O people of Iraq! I do not ask you about the minor sins, nor do I ask about one who commits a major sin. I heard my father 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "The trial will come from here" -- and he (peace be upon him) pointed with his hand toward the east, "from where the two horns of Satan rise." And you strike one another's necks (whereas how great a sin it is to strike the neck of a believer!). And Moses (peace be upon him) mistakenly killed a man of Pharaoh's people (not intending to kill, for a man does not die from a blow of the fist), so concerning that Allah the Exalted said: "You killed a soul, then We delivered you from grief and tried you with a great trial" (Surah Ta-Ha: 40).
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا سالم بن عبداللہ بن عمر سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے تھے کہاے عراق والو! میں تم سے چھوٹے گناہ نہیں پوچھتا نہ اس کو پوچھتا ہوں جو کبیرہ گناہ کرتا ہو میں نے اپنے والد سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا، وہ کہتے تھے کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ فتنہ ادھر سے آئے گا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنے ہاتھ سے مشرق کی طرف اشارہ کیا، جہاں شیطان کے دونوں سینگ نکلتے ہیں۔ اور تم ایک دوسرے کی گردن مارتے ہو (حالانکہ مومن کی گردن مارنا کتنا بڑا گناہ ہے) اور موسیٰ علیہ السلام فرعون کی قوم کا ایک شخص غلطی سے مار بیٹھے تھے (نہ بہ نیت قتل کیونکہ گھونسے سے آدمی نہیں مرتا)، تو اس پر اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ”تو نے ایک خون کیا، پھر ہم نے تجھے غم سے نجات دی اور تجھ کو آزمایا جیسا آزمایا تھا“۔ (سورۃ طہٰ: 40)[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1997]
