Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This verse — "When two parties among you were about to lose heart, but Allah was their protector" (Al Imran: 122) — was revealed concerning us, that is, Banu Salama and Banu Haritha. And we would not wish that this verse had not been revealed, because Allah the Exalted says: "And Allah was the protector of both of them."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہیہ آیت کہ”جب تم میں سے دو گروہوں نے ہمت ہار دینے کا قصد کیا اور اللہ ان دونوں کا دوست ہے“(آل عمران: 122) ہم لوگوں یعنی بنی سلمہ اور بنی حارثہ کے بارے میں اتری۔ اور ہم نہیں چاہتے کہ یہ آیت نہ اترتی، کیونکہ اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے کہ”اور اللہ ان دونوں کا دوست ہے“۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1723]
