Narrated Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her): All the pure wives of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with them) were with him (during his illness); not one wife was absent, when Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) came, and she walked exactly as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) walked. When he (peace be upon him) saw her, he said, "Welcome," and said, "Welcome, my daughter." Then he seated her to his right or to his left, and whispered something in her ear, whereupon she wept much. When he (peace be upon him) saw her in this state, he whispered something in her ear again, and she laughed. I said to her, "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) confided a secret specially to you, and then you weep?" When he (peace be upon him) got up, I asked her, "What did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say to you?" She said, "I am not one to disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." When he (peace be upon him) had passed away, I adjured her by the right I had over her and said, "Tell me what the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to you." She said, "Now indeed I will tell. The first time, he (peace be upon him) whispered in my ear, 'Jibril (peace be upon him) used to review the Quran with me once or twice each year, and this year he reviewed it twice, and I think that my time (to depart from the world) has drawn near; so fear Allah and be patient, for I am the best predecessor for you.' Hearing this, I began to weep as you saw. When he (peace be upon him) saw my weeping, he whispered to me again and said, 'O Fatimah, are you not pleased to be the mistress of the women of the believers, or of the women of this nation?' Hearing this, I laughed, as you saw." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1655]

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی سب ازواج مطہرات رضی اللہ عنہن آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس تھیں (آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی بیماری میں)، کوئی بیوی ایسی نہ تھیں جو پاس نہ ہو کہ اتنے میں سیدہ فاطمۃالزہراء رضی اللہ عنہا آئیں اور وہ بالکل اسی طرح چلتی تھیں جس طرح رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمچلتے تھے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے جب انہیں دیکھا تو مرحبا کہا اور فرمایا کہ مرحبا میری بیٹی۔ پھر ان کو اپنے دائیں طرف یا بائیں طرف بٹھایا اور ان کے کان میں آہستہ سے کچھ فرمایا تو وہ بہت روئیں۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان کا یہ حال دیکھا تو دوبارہ ان کے کان میں کچھ فرمایا تو وہ ہنسیں۔ میں نے ان سے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے خاص تم سے راز کی باتیں کیں، پھر تم روتی ہو۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکھڑے ہوئے تو میں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ تم سے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کیا فرمایا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا راز فاش کرنے والی نہیں ہوں۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی وفات ہو گئی تو میں نے ان کو قسم دی اس حق کی جو میرا ان پر تھا اور کہا کہ مجھ سے بیان کرو جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے تم سے فرمایا تھا، تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اب البتہ میں بیان کروں گی۔ پہلی مرتبہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے میرے کان میں یہ فرمایا کہ جبرائیل علیہ السلام ہر سال ایک بار یا دو بار مجھ سے قرآن کا دور کرتے تھے اور اس سال انہوں نے دوبار دور کیا، اور میں خیال کرتا ہوں کہ میرا (دنیا سے جانے کا) وقت قریب آ گیا ہے، پس اللہ سے ڈرتی رہ اور صبر کر، میں تیرا بہت اچھا منتظر ہوں۔ یہ سن کر میں رونے لگی جیسے تم نے دیکھا تھا۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے میرا رونا دیکھا تو دوبارہ مجھ سے سرگوشی کی اور فرمایا کہ اے فاطمہ! تو اس بات سے راضی نہیں ہے کہ تو مومنوں کی عورتوں کی یا اس امت کی عورتوں کی سردار ہو؟ یہ سن کر میں ہنسی جیسے کہ تم نے دیکھا تھا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1655]
