Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on a journey. When we reached al-Bayda or Dhat al-Jaysh (al-Bayda and Dhat al-Jaysh are names of places between Khaybar and Medina), my necklace broke and fell off, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) halted to search for it. The people also halted. There was no water there, nor did the people have any water. The people came to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Do you not see what Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) has done? She has caused the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the people to halt where there is no water, and they have no water." Hearing this, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had fallen asleep with his head on my thigh. He said: "You have detained the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the people where there is no water and they have no water," and he was angry and said what Allah willed him to say, and he began to jab me in the flank with his hand. I would surely have moved, but the Messenger of Allah's (peace be upon him) head was on my thigh, so I did not move. Then he kept sleeping until morning came, and there was no water at all. Then Allah Almighty revealed the verse of tayammum, so everyone performed tayammum. Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was among the chiefs, said: "O family of Abu Bakr! This is not the first blessing to come through you (that is, through you Allah Almighty has always brought benefit to the Muslims; this blessing too has been obtained through you)." Umm al-Mu'minin Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Then we made the camel on which I was riding rise, and the necklace was found beneath it.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ سفر میں نکلے، جب بیداء یا ذات الجیش میں پہنچے (بیداء اور ذات الجیش خیبر اور مدینہ کے درمیان مقام کے نام ہیں) تو میرے گلے کا ہار ٹوٹ کر گر گیا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس کے ڈھونڈھنے کے لئے ٹھہر گئے۔ لوگ بھی ٹھہر گئے۔ وہاں پانی نہ تھا اور نہ لوگوں کے پاس پانی تھا۔ لوگ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے اور کہنے لگے کہ تم دیکھتے نہیں کہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کیا کیا ہے؟ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ٹھہرایا ہے اور لوگوں کو بھی، جہاں پانی نہیں اور نہ ان کے پاس پانی ہے۔ یہ سن کر سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنا سر میری ران پر رکھے سو گئے تھے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تو نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو روک رکھا ہے اور لوگوں کو جہاں نہ پانی ہے اور نہ لوگوں کے پاس پانی ہے اور انہوں نے غصہ کیا اور جو اللہ نے چاہا وہ کہہ ڈالا اور میری کوکھ میں ہاتھ سے گھونسے مارنے لگے۔ میں ضرور ہلتی مگر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا سر میری ران پر تھا، اس وجہ سے میں نہ ہلی۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسوتے رہے یہاں تک کہ صبح ہو گئی اور پانی بالکل نہ تھا تب اللہ تعالیٰ نے تیمم کی آیت اتاری تو سب نے تیمم کیا۔ سیدنا اسید بن حضیر رضی اللہ عنہ جو نقیبوں میں سے تھے، نے کہا کہ اے ابوبکر کی اولاد! یہ تمہاری کچھ پہلی برکت نہیں ہے (یعنی تمہاری وجہ سے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیشہ مسلمانوں کو فائدہ دیا ہے، یہ بھی ایک نعمت تمہارے سبب سے ملی) ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ پھر ہم نے اس اونٹ کو اٹھایا جس پر میں سوار تھی، تو ہار اس کے نیچے سے مل گیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 165]
