Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him): Mention of a certain man was made before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and a man said, "O Messenger of Allah! After the Messenger of Allah, no one is better than this man in such-and-such matters." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Woe to you! You have cut off the neck of your companion," several times he said thus. Then he said, "If any of you must praise his brother (if he is really so), let him say, 'I reckon that he is such,' and even then I do not pronounce anyone pure before Allah (that is, it is not known what he is in the sight of Allah, because this knowledge belongs to none but Allah, or to one whom Allah informs)."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے ایک شخص کا ذکر آیا تو ایک شخص بولا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اللہ کے رسول کے بعد کوئی شخص فلاں فلاں کام میں اس شخص سے بہتر نہیں۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہائے تو نے اپنے صاحب کی گردن کاٹ لی، کئی بار ایسا ہی فرمایا۔ پھر فرمایا کہ اگر تم میں سے کوئی اپنے بھائی کی تعریف کرنا ضروری سمجھے (اگر وہ واقعی ایسا ہو) تو یوں کہے کہ میں خیال کرتا ہوں کہ وہ ایسا ہے اس پر بھی میں اللہ کے سامنے کسی کو اچھا نہیں کہتا (یعنی معلوم نہیں کہ وہ اللہ کے نزدیک کیا ہے کیونکہ یہ علم اللہ کے سوا کسی کو نہیں یا جس کو اللہ بتائے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1510]
