It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers Aishah as-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Quraysh became concerned about the woman who had committed theft during the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), at the time of the conquest of Makkah. The people said: "Who will intercede about this matter with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" They said: "Who would dare do so before him except Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), who is the beloved of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" So the woman was brought before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him) interceded for her. Then the color of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) face changed (out of anger), and he said: "Do you intercede concerning one of the prescribed punishments of Allah?" Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, pray for forgiveness for me." When evening came, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood and gave a sermon. First he praised Allah as He deserves, then after that he said: "Those before you were destroyed for the very reason that when a person of high standing among them stole, they let him go, but when a weak (helpless) person stole, they imposed the prescribed punishment upon him. As for me, by Him in whose hand is my soul, if Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of Muhammad (peace be upon him), were to steal, I would cut off her hand." The Mother of the Believers Aishah as-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "After that (after her hand was cut off) this woman repented well and married, and she used to come to me, and I would convey her needs to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." الترجمة الأردية
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہقریش کو اس عورت کی فکر پیدا ہوئی جس نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے عہد مبارک میں، فتح مکہ کے موقعہ پر چوری کی تھی۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ اس بارے میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے کون سفارش کرے گا؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ آپ کے سامنے سوائے سیدنا اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ کے اتنی جرات کون کر سکتا ہے جو کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا چہیتے ہیں۔ آخر وہ عورت رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس لائی گئی اور سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کی سفارش کی، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے چہرے کا رنگ (غصے کی وجہ سے) بدل گیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تو اللہ تعالیٰ کی حد میں سفارش کرتا ہے؟ سیدنا اسامہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میرے لئے معافی کی دعا کیجئے۔ جب شام ہوئی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکھڑے ہوئے اور خطبہ پڑھا۔ پہلے اللہ تعالیٰ کی تعریف کی جیسے اس کو شایان ہے، پھر اس کے بعد فرمایا کہ تم سے پہلے لوگوں کو اسی بات نے تباہ کیا کہ جب ان میں عزت دار آدمی چوری کرتا تھا تو اس کو چھوڑ دیتے تھے اور جب غریب (ناتواں) چوری کرتا تھا تو اس پر حد قائم کرتے تھے۔ اور میں تو، قسم اس کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے کہ اگر فاطمہ (رضی اللہ عنہا) محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کی بیٹی بھی چوری کرے، تو اس کا ہاتھ کاٹ ڈالوں۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ (ہاتھ کٹنے کے) بعد اس عورت نے اچھی توبہ کی اور نکاح کر لیا اور وہ میرے پاس آتی تھی تو میں اس کے مطلب کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عرض کر دیا کرتی تھی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1046]
