حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَوَكِيعٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ لَمَّا ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَاءَ بِلاَلٌ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " . قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَجُلٌ أَسِيفٌ إِنَّهُ مَتَى يَقُمْ مَقَامَكَ لاَ يُسْمِعِ النَّاسَ فَلَوْ أَمَرْتَ عُمَرَ . فَقَالَ " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " . قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ لِحَفْصَةَ قُولِي لَهُ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَجُلٌ أَسِيفٌ وَإِنَّهُ مَتَى يَقُمْ مَقَامَكَ لاَ يُسْمِعِ النَّاسَ فَلَوْ أَمَرْتَ عُمَرَ . فَقَالَتْ لَهُ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّكُنَّ لأَنْتُنَّ صَوَاحِبُ يُوسُفَ . مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " . قَالَتْ فَأَمَرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ - قَالَتْ - فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ نَفْسِهِ خِفَّةً فَقَامَ يُهَادَى بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ وَرِجْلاَهُ تَخُطَّانِ فِي الأَرْضِ - قَالَتْ - فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ سَمِعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حِسَّهُ ذَهَبَ يَتَأَخَّرُ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قُمْ مَكَانَكَ . فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى جَلَسَ عَنْ يَسَارِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ - قَالَتْ - فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ جَالِسًا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ قَائِمًا يَقْتَدِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِصَلاَةِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَيَقْتَدِي النَّاسُ بِصَلاَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaibah narrated to us, he said: Abu Hadrat Mu'awiyah and Waki' narrated to us. (Through another chain) Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us — the wording is his — he said: Abu Hadrat Mu'awiyah informed us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, from Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat A'ishah Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her), who said: When the illness of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) became severe, Hadrat Bilal (may Allah be well pleased with him) came to inform him about the prayer. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Tell Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: I submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) is a tenderhearted man who is quickly overcome by grief; when he stands in your place, he will not be able to make the people hear (the recitation). So if you were to command Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him), it would be better. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said again: 'Tell Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' I said to Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Hafsah (may Allah be well pleased with her): Please submit to him that Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) is a tenderhearted man quickly overcome by grief, and when he stands in your place, he will not be able to make the people hear (the recitation). So if you were to command Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him), it would be better. Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Hafsah (may Allah be well pleased with her) submitted this to him, so the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Indeed you are like the women who surrounded Yusuf (upon him be peace). Tell Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: So they conveyed the command to Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) and he led the people in prayer. When Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) had commenced the prayer, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) felt some relief in his condition. He stood up, being supported by two men, with his blessed feet dragging on the ground. She said: When he entered the mosque, Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) heard his movement and began to withdraw, but the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) signaled to him to remain in his place. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came forward and sat on the left side of Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him). She said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was leading the people in prayer while seated, and Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) was standing. Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him) was following the prayer of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and the people were following the prayer of Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with him).

ہم سے حضرت ابو بکر بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا: ہم سے ابو حضرت معاویہ اور وکیع نے بیان کیا۔ ح اور ہم سے یحییٰ بن یحییٰ نے بیان کیا — الفاظ انہی کے ہیں — فرمایا: ہمیں ابو حضرت معاویہ نے خبر دی، اعمش سے، انہوں نے ابراہیم سے، انہوں نے اسود سے اور انہوں نے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بیماری شدت اختیار کر گئی تو حضرت بلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ آپ کو نماز کی اطلاع دینے کے لیے حاضر ہوئے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ''ابو بکر سے کہو وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔'' حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں: میں نے عرض کی: یا رسول اللہ! حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ جلد غمزدہ ہو جانے والے انسان ہیں، جب وہ آپ کی جگہ کھڑے ہوں گے تو لوگوں کو (قراءت بھی) نہیں سنا سکیں گے، لہٰذا اگر آپ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو حکم فرما دیں (تو بہتر ہو گا)۔ آپ نے (پھر) فرمایا: ''ابو بکر سے کہو کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔'' میں نے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے کہا: آپ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کریں کہ حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ جلد غمزدہ ہونے والے انسان ہیں، جب وہ آپ کی جگہ پر کھڑے ہوں گے تو لوگوں کو (قراءت) نہیں سنا سکیں گے، چنانچہ اگر آپ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو حکم فرمائیں (تو بہتر ہو گا)۔ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے آپ سے عرض کر دیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ''بلاشبہ تم یوسف (علیہ السلام) کے ساتھ (معاملہ کرنے) والی عورتوں کی مانند ہو، حضرت ابو بکر سے کہو کہ وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔'' حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں: لوگوں نے حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو حکم پہنچا دیا تو انہوں نے لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی۔ جب حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے نماز شروع فرما دی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنی طبیعت میں قدرے تخفیف محسوس فرمائی، آپ اٹھے، دو آدمی آپ کو سہارا دیے ہوئے تھے اور آپ کے پاؤں مبارک زمین پر لکیریں کھینچتے جا رہے تھے۔ آپ فرماتی ہیں: جب آپ مسجد میں داخل ہوئے تو حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے آپ کی آہٹ سن لی، وہ پیچھے ہٹنے لگے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں اشارہ فرمایا کہ اپنی جگہ کھڑے رہو۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم آگے تشریف لائے اور حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی بائیں جانب بیٹھ گئے۔ آپ فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم بیٹھ کر لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے اور حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کھڑے ہو کر، حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی نماز کی اقتدا فرما رہے تھے اور لوگ حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی اقتدا میں نماز پڑھ رہے تھے۔
