حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلاَةَ الْعَصْرِ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقَامَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَقُصِرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمْ نَسِيتَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ " . فَقَالَ قَدْ كَانَ بَعْضُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ " أَصَدَقَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ " . فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . فَأَتَمَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Sufyan, the freed slave of Ibn Abi Ahmad, reported that he said: I heard Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) say: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) led us in the 'Asr prayer and gave salutation after two rak'ahs. Dhul-Yadain stood up and submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten? The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'None of that has happened.' He submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), something has certainly happened. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) turned towards the people and asked: 'Is Dhul-Yadain telling the truth?' They submitted: Yes, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! So the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) completed the remaining part of the prayer, then performed two prostrations while sitting after the salutation.
الترجمة الأردية
ابن ابی احمد کے آزاد کردہ غلام ابو سفیان سے روایت ہے کہ اس نے کہا: میں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہمیں عصر کی نماز پڑھائی اور دو رکعتوں میں سلام پھیر دیا۔ ذوالیدین (نامی شخص) کھڑا ہوا اور عرض کی: اے اللہ کے رسول! نماز کم کر دی گئی ہے یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ''ایسا کوئی کام نہیں ہوا۔'' اس نے عرض کی: اے اللہ کے رسول! کوئی ایک کام تو ہوا ہے۔ تب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور پوچھا: ''کیا ذوالیدین نے سچ کہا؟'' انہوں نے عرض کی: جی ہاں! اے اللہ کے رسول! تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے جو نماز رہ گئی تھی پوری کی، پھر بیٹھے بیٹھے سلام پھیرنے کے بعد دو سجدے کیے۔
