أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُلَازِمُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَدْرٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ طَلْقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا سِتَّةُ وَفْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَمْسَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي حَنِيفَةَ وَالسَّادِسُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ ضُبَيْعَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ وَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَنَّ بِأَرْضِنَا بِيعَةً لَنَا وَاسْتَوْهَبْنَاهُ مِنْ فَضْلِ طَهُورِهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ وَتَمَضْمَضَ ثُمَّ صَبَّهُ لَنَا فِي إِدَاوَةٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اذْهَبُوا بِهَذَا الْمَاءِ فَإِذَا قَدِمْتُمْ بَلَدَكُمْ فَاكْسِرُوا بِيعَتَكُمْ ثُمَّ انْضَحُوا مَكَانَهَا مِنْ هَذَا الْمَاءِ وَاتَّخِذُوا مَكَانَهَا مَسْجِدًا» فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْبَلَدُ بَعِيدٌ وَالْمَاءُ يَنْشَفُ قَالَ «فَأَمِدُّوهُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَزِيدُهُ إِلَّا طِيبًا» فَخَرَجْنَا فَتَشَاحَحْنَا عَلَى حَمْلِ الْإِدَاوَةِ أَيُّنَا يَحْمِلُهَا فَجَعَلَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لِكُلِّ رَجُلٍ مِنَّا يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً فَخَرَجْنَا بِهَا حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا بَلَدَنَا فَعَمِلْنَا الَّذِي أَمَرَنَا وَرَاهِبُ ذَلِكَ الْقَوْمِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ طَيِّئٍ فَنَادَيْنَاهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ الرَّاهِبُ دَعْوَةُ حَقٍّ ثُمَّ هَرَبَ فَلَمْ يُرَ بَعْدُ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Talq narrated: We left as a delegation of six to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ - five from Banu Hanifah and the sixth a man from Dubay'ah bin Rabi'ah - until we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We pledged allegiance to him, prayed with him, and informed him that in our land we have a church. We requested from him some of his wudu water. So he called for water, performed wudu from it, rinsed his mouth, then poured it for us into a water skin. Then he said: 'Go with this water. When you reach your land, break your church, then sprinkle its place with this water and make a mosque in its place.' We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the land is far and the water will dry up.' He said: 'Add water to it, for it will only increase it in goodness.' So we left and disputed about carrying the water skin - which of us would carry it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it for each man among us a day and a night. We left with it until we reached our land and did what he commanded us. The monk of those people was a man from Tayy. We called him to prayer, so the monk said: 'A call of truth.' Then he fled and was not seen again.
