Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Mahbubi informed us — Sa'id ibn Mas'ud narrated to us — Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us — Hammam ibn Yahya informed us — from al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Wahid — from Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil — from Hadrat Jabir ibn Abd Allah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) who said: A hadith reached me from a man among the Companions of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who heard it from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) regarding retribution, and I had not heard it. So I purchased a camel, fastened my saddle upon it, and traveled for a month until I reached Egypt. I came to Abd Allah ibn Unays and said to the doorkeeper: Tell him Jabir is at the door. He asked: The son of Abd Allah? I said: Yes. He went and informed him. He got up, treading on his garment in haste, and came out. He embraced me and I embraced him. I said: A hadith reached me about you that you heard from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) regarding retribution, and I feared that I or you might die before I heard it. Abd Allah said: I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: Allah will gather the servants -- or he said: the people -- naked, uncircumcised, and empty. We asked: What does empty mean? He said: They will have nothing with them. Then He will call them with a voice that the far will hear as clearly as the near: I am the King, I am the Judge. It is not befitting for any person of Paradise to enter Paradise while any person of the Fire has a grievance against him, until I settle it -- even a slap. And it is not befitting for any person of the Fire to enter the Fire while any person of Paradise has a grievance against him, until I settle it. We said: How is that when we come to Allah naked and empty? He stated: "Through good deeds and evil deeds." Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) recited: {Today every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today} [Ghafir 17]. The chain is authentic, though they did not narrate it.

ابو العباس محمد بن احمد المحبوبی نے ہمیں خبر دی — سعید بن مسعود نے ہم سے بیان کیا — یزید بن ہارون نے ہم سے بیان کیا — ہمّام بن یحییٰ نے ہمیں خبر دی — قاسم بن عبد الواحد سے — عبد اللہ بن محمد بن عقیل سے — حضرت جابر بن عبد اللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ فرمایا: مجھے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ایک صحابی سے ایک حدیث پہنچی جو اُنہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے قصاص کے بارے میں سنی تھی اور میں نے نہیں سنی تھی۔ تو میں نے ایک اونٹ خریدا، اُس پر اپنا پالان کسا اور ایک ماہ تک سفر کیا یہاں تک کہ مصر پہنچا۔ میں عبد اللہ بن اُنیس کے پاس آیا اور دربان سے کہا: اُن سے کہو جابر دروازے پر ہے۔ اُنہوں نے پوچھا: عبد اللہ کا بیٹا؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں۔ وہ گیا اور اُنہیں خبر دی۔ وہ اُٹھے اپنا کپڑا روندتے ہوئے جلدی سے باہر آئے۔ اُنہوں نے مجھ سے معانقہ کیا اور میں نے اُن سے۔ میں نے کہا: ایک حدیث مجھے آپ سے پہنچی ہے جو آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے قصاص کے بارے میں سنی، مجھے ڈر لگا کہ میں مر جاؤں یا آپ مر جائیں اس سے پہلے کہ میں اسے سنوں۔ عبد اللہ نے فرمایا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: اللہ تعالیٰ بندوں کو -- یا فرمایا: لوگوں کو -- ننگے، بے ختنہ، خالی ہاتھ اٹھائے گا۔ ہم نے عرض کیا: خالی ہاتھ سے کیا مراد ہے؟ فرمایا: اُن کے پاس کچھ نہیں ہوگا۔ پھر ایسی آواز سے پکارے گا جسے دور والا بھی اسی طرح سنے گا جیسے قریب والا: میں بادشاہ ہوں، میں انصاف کرنے والا ہوں۔ جنت والوں میں سے کسی کے لیے مناسب نہیں کہ جنت میں داخل ہو جبکہ جہنم والوں میں سے کسی کا اُس پر مظلمہ ہو یہاں تک کہ میں اُس سے قصاص لے لوں -- چاہے ایک تھپڑ ہو۔ اور جہنم والوں میں سے کسی کے لیے مناسب نہیں کہ جہنم میں داخل ہو جبکہ جنت والوں میں سے کسی کا اُس پر مظلمہ ہو یہاں تک کہ میں اُس سے قصاص لے لوں۔ ہم نے عرض کیا: یہ کیسے ہوگا جبکہ ہم اللہ کے پاس ننگے اور خالی آئیں گے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: نیکیوں اور برائیوں سے۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے تلاوت فرمائی: {آج ہر نفس کو اُس کے کسب کا بدلہ دیا جائے گا، آج کوئی ظلم نہیں} [غافر 17]۔ سند صحیح ہے، مگر اُنہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔
