It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed away, he (peace be upon him) was covered in a 'burd yamani' (a Yemeni sheet).

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہجب رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی وفات ہو گئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم”بردیمانی“(ایک یمنی چادر) میں ڈھکے ہوئے تھے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1986]
