It is narrated from Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he (peace be upon him) said, "The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of perfume (musk) and the blacksmith who blows the bellows, for the seller of perfume will either give you something, or you will buy from him, or at least you will smell a pleasant fragrance (likewise in the company of the righteous there is benefit in every way). And the blacksmith blowing the bellows will either burn your clothes (with flying sparks), or if not, you will certainly smell a foul odor."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”نیک دوست اور برے دوست کی مثال خوشبو والے اور لوہار، بھٹی دھونکنے والے کی سی ہے کیونکہ خوشبو والا یا تو خود کچھ عطا کر دے گا یا تو یہ خرید لے گاور نہ عمدہ خوشبو تو (ضرور ہی) سونگھ لے گا (ایسے ہی نیک کی صحبت میں ہر طرح فائدہ ہے) اور بھٹی دھونکنے والا لوہار، یا تو (آگ اڑا کر) تیرے کپڑے جلا دے گا، اگر نہیں تو تم بدبو ضرور سونگھو گے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1926]
