Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Jibril (peace be upon him) first taught me the Quran in one mode of recitation. I kept asking him for more until it reached seven modes of recitation."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”مجھے جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے ایک قرآت میں قرآن پڑھایا تھا پھر میں برابر ان سے زیادہ چاہتا رہا یہاں تک کہ سات قراتوں تک پہنچ گیا۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1365]
