Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from his father, who said: Hadrat 'Ali al-Murtada (may Allah ennoble his countenance) said: We have no book to read except the Book of Allah, other than this document. He said: He brought it out and in it were matters concerning wounds (their rulings) and the ages of camels (for blood-money). He said: And in it was: Madinah is a sanctuary (haram) from 'Ayr to Thawr. Whoever introduces an innovation in it or shelters an innovator, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all mankind; neither obligatory nor voluntary acts will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever adopts a patronage (wala') relationship with a people without the permission of his own patrons (mawali), upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all mankind; neither obligatory nor voluntary acts will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection. And the covenant of protection of all Muslims is one — the lowest of them may grant it. Whoever betrays a Muslim's covenant, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all mankind; neither obligatory nor voluntary acts will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection.

ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، ہم سے جریر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے اعمش سے، انہوں نے ابراہیم تیمی سے، انہوں نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے فرمایا: حضرت علی المرتضیٰ کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم نے فرمایا: ہمارے پاس کتاب اللہ کے سوا کوئی کتاب نہیں جو ہم پڑھتے ہوں، سوائے اس صحیفے کے۔ فرمایا: انہوں نے اسے نکالا تو اس میں زخموں (کے احکام) اور اونٹوں کی عمریں (دیت کے بارے میں) لکھی ہوئی تھیں۔ فرمایا: اور اس میں (یہ بھی) لکھا تھا: مدینہ عیر سے ثور تک حرم ہے۔ جس نے اس میں کوئی بدعت ایجاد کی یا بدعتی کو پناہ دی تو اس پر اللہ، فرشتوں اور تمام لوگوں کی لعنت ہے، قیامت کے دن اس کا نہ فرض قبول ہوگا نہ نفل۔ اور جس نے اپنے آزاد کرنے والوں (موالی) کی اجازت کے بغیر دوسرے لوگوں سے ولاء کا رشتہ جوڑا تو اس پر اللہ، فرشتوں اور تمام لوگوں کی لعنت ہے، قیامت کے دن اس کا نہ فرض قبول ہوگا نہ نفل۔ اور تمام مسلمانوں کا ذمہ ایک ہے، ان میں سے ادنیٰ شخص بھی عہد دے سکتا ہے۔ جس نے کسی مسلمان کا عہد توڑا تو اس پر اللہ، فرشتوں اور تمام لوگوں کی لعنت ہے، قیامت کے دن اس کا نہ فرض قبول ہوگا نہ نفل۔
