Hadrat 'Ali ibn Muslim narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, more than one narrator informed us, among them Mughirah and so-and-so and a third person as well, from al-Sha'bi, from Warrad the scribe of Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be well pleased with him), that Hadrat Mu'awiyah (may Allah be well pleased with him) wrote to Hadrat Mughirah (may Allah be well pleased with him): Write to me a hadith that you heard from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). So Hadrat Mughirah (may Allah be well pleased with him) wrote to him: I heard him say upon finishing the prayer: "La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir" (There is no deity but Allah, alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things) — three times. And he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to forbid gossip and hearsay, excessive questioning, wasting wealth, withholding and demanding, disobedience to mothers, and burying daughters alive. And from Hushaym, 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr informed us, he said: I heard Warrad narrating this hadith from Mughirah from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).

ہم سے علی بن مسلم نے بیان کیا، ہم سے ہشیم نے بیان کیا، ہمیں ایک سے زائد لوگوں نے خبر دی جن میں مغیرہ اور فلاں اور ایک تیسرے شخص بھی تھے، انہوں نے شعبی سے، انہوں نے ورّاد سے جو مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے کاتب تھے، روایت کیا کہ حضرت امیر حضرت معاویہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے حضرت مغیرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو لکھا کہ مجھے کوئی ایسی حدیث لکھ کر بھیجو جو تم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے سنی ہو۔ حضرت مغیرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے انہیں لکھا کہ میں نے آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو نماز سے فارغ ہوتے وقت فرماتے ہوئے سنا: "لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير" (اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کی بادشاہی ہے اور اسی کے لیے تعریف ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے)۔ یہ تین مرتبہ فرماتے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم قیل و قال سے، کثرتِ سوال سے، مال ضائع کرنے سے، مانگنے اور نہ دینے سے، ماؤں کی نافرمانی سے اور لڑکیوں کو زندہ دفنانے سے منع فرماتے تھے۔ اور ہشیم سے عبدالملک بن عمیر نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ورّاد کو یہی حدیث مغیرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے بیان کرتے سنا۔
