It is narrated through the chain of Abdan from Hadrat Abdullah, from Yunus, from al-Zuhri; and through Ahmad bin Salih from Anbasa, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, who reported that Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that Hadrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be well pleased with him) used to narrate that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, 'The roof of my house was opened while I was in Makkah al-Mukarramah. Jibril (upon him be peace) descended and split open my chest, then washed it with the water of Zamzam. Then he brought a golden basin filled with wisdom and faith, poured it into my chest, and closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the heavens. When he reached the nearest heaven, Jibril (upon him be peace) stated to its gatekeeper: Open! He asked: Who is it? He replied: Jibril. He asked: Is there anyone with you? He replied: Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is with me. He asked: Has he been summoned? He replied: Yes, so open. When we ascended, there was a man with dark masses on his right and dark masses on his left. When he looked to his right, he laughed, and when he looked to his left, he wept. He said: Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous son! I asked: O Jibril, who is this? He replied: This is Hadrat Adam (upon him be peace), and these dark masses on his right and left are the souls of his progeny. Those on the right are the people of Paradise, and those on the left are the people of the Hellfire. When he looks to the right, he laughs, and when he looks to the left, he weeps. Then Jibril (upon him be peace) ascended with me until he reached the second heaven and said to its gatekeeper: Open! The gatekeeper asked the same questions as the first, and opened.' Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said that the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) mentioned finding Hadrat Idris, Hadrat Musa, Hadrat Isa, and Hadrat Ibrahim (upon them all be peace) in the heavens, but he could not confirm their exact positions, except that Hadrat Adam (upon him be peace) was on the first heaven and Hadrat Ibrahim (upon him be peace) on the sixth. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: When Jibril (upon him be peace) passed by Hadrat Idris (upon him be peace), he said: Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous brother! I asked: Who is this? He replied: This is Hadrat Idris (upon him be peace). Then I passed by Hadrat Musa (upon him be peace) who said: Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous brother! I asked: Who is this? He replied: This is Hadrat Musa (upon him be peace). Then I passed by Hadrat Isa (upon him be peace) who said: Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous brother! I asked: Who is this? He replied: This is Hadrat Isa (upon him be peace). Then I passed by Hadrat Ibrahim (upon him be peace) who said: Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous son! I asked: Who is this? He replied: This is Hadrat Ibrahim (upon him be peace). Ibn Hazm reported that Hadrat Ibn Abbas and Abu Habba al-Ansari (may Allah be well pleased with them) used to say that the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Then I was taken up until I reached a level where I could hear the scratching of the pens. Ibn Hazm and Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with them) said that the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Then Allah enjoined fifty prayers upon me. I returned with this until I passed by Hadrat Musa (upon him be peace) who asked: What has been enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He said: Return to your Lord, for your Ummah cannot bear that. So I returned and my Lord reduced them by half. I came back to Hadrat Musa (upon him be peace) who said: Return to your Lord. The same happened again and they were reduced by half. I returned to Hadrat Musa (upon him be peace) and informed him. He said: Return to your Lord, for your Ummah cannot bear that. I returned and Allah declared: They are five, and they are fifty; My word does not change. I returned to Hadrat Musa (upon him be peace) who said: Go back to your Lord. I said: I feel shy before my Lord. Then I was taken onward until I reached the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntaha), which was covered with colors I cannot describe. Then I was admitted into Paradise, and therein were domes of pearls, and its soil was musk.'

عبدان نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عبداللہ نے خبر دی، کہا ہم کو یونس نے خبر دی، ان سے زہری نے اور ہم سے احمد بن صالح نے بیان کیا، ان سے عنبسہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے یونس نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، کہا حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان فرماتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا "میرے مکان کی چھت شق ہوئی اور میں مکہ مکرمہ میں تھا۔ جبرائیل علیہ السلام نازل ہوئے اور میرا سینہ چاک کیا پھر آبِ زمزم سے اسے دھویا، پھر سونے کا ایک طشت لائے جو حکمت اور ایمان سے بھرا ہوا تھا اور اسے میرے سینے میں انڈیل دیا، پھر سینے کو بند کر دیا اور میرا ہاتھ پکڑ کر آسمان کی طرف لے چلے۔ جب آسمانِ دنیا پر پہنچے تو جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے آسمان کے داروغے سے فرمایا: دروازہ کھولو۔ انہوں نے پوچھا: کون ہے؟ فرمایا: جبرائیل ہوں۔ پوچھا: آپ کے ساتھ کوئی اور بھی ہے؟ فرمایا: میرے ساتھ محمد (صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہیں۔ پوچھا: کیا انہیں بلایا گیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ہاں، دروازہ کھولو۔ جب ہم اوپر گئے تو ایک شخص کو دیکھا جن کے دائیں طرف سیاہ ہجوم تھا اور بائیں طرف بھی سیاہ ہجوم تھا۔ جب وہ دائیں طرف دیکھتے تو ہنستے اور جب بائیں طرف دیکھتے تو روتے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: خوش آمدید اے نیک نبی اور نیک بیٹے! میں نے پوچھا: اے جبرائیل! یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا: یہ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام ہیں اور دائیں بائیں یہ سیاہ ہجوم ان کی اولاد کی روحیں ہیں۔ دائیں طرف والے جنتی ہیں اور بائیں طرف والے جہنمی۔ جب دائیں طرف دیکھتے ہیں تو ہنستے ہیں اور جب بائیں طرف دیکھتے ہیں تو روتے ہیں۔ پھر جبرائیل علیہ السلام مجھے لے کر دوسرے آسمان پر گئے اور اس کے داروغے سے فرمایا: دروازہ کھولو۔ اس نے بھی پہلے والے کی طرح سوال کیا اور دروازہ کھول دیا۔" حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ آسمانوں میں انہوں نے حضرت ادریس، حضرت موسیٰ، حضرت عیسیٰ اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہم السلام کو پایا، لیکن مجھے ٹھیک سے یاد نہیں کہ ان کی منزلیں کس آسمان پر تھیں، سوائے اس کے کہ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام پہلے آسمان پر تھے اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام چھٹے آسمان پر۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ جب جبرائیل علیہ السلام حضرت ادریس علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرے تو انہوں نے فرمایا: خوش آمدید اے نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا: یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا: یہ حضرت ادریس علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: خوش آمدید اے نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا: یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا: یہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: خوش آمدید اے نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا: یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا: یہ حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: خوش آمدید اے نیک نبی اور نیک بیٹے! میں نے پوچھا: یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا: یہ حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام ہیں۔ ابن حزم نے خبر دی کہ حضرت ابن عباس اور ابوحبہ انصاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم فرماتے تھے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا "پھر مجھے اوپر لے جایا گیا یہاں تک کہ ایک ایسے مقام پر پہنچا جہاں قلموں کی آواز سنائی دے رہی تھی۔" ابن حزم اور حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا "اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھ پر پچاس نمازیں فرض کیں۔ میں اس حکم کو لے کر واپس لوٹا اور حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: تمہاری امت پر کیا فرض کیا گیا؟ میں نے عرض کیا: پچاس نمازیں۔ فرمایا: اپنے رب کے حضور واپس جاؤ کیونکہ تمہاری امت اس کی طاقت نہیں رکھتی۔ چنانچہ میں واپس گیا اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے آدھی کم کر دیں۔ میں پھر حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس آیا تو فرمایا: واپس جاؤ۔ پھر اسی طرح ہوا اور آدھی مزید کم کر دی گئیں۔ میں پھر حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس آ کر بتایا تو فرمایا: واپس جاؤ تمہاری امت اس کی طاقت نہیں رکھتی۔ میں واپس گیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا: یہ پانچ ہیں اور یہی پچاس ہیں، میرے ہاں فیصلہ بدلا نہیں جاتا۔ میں حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس لوٹا تو فرمایا: واپس جاؤ۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اب مجھے اپنے رب سے حیا آتی ہے۔ پھر مجھے آگے لے جایا گیا یہاں تک کہ سدرۃ المنتہیٰ پر پہنچا جس پر ایسے رنگ چھائے ہوئے تھے جنہیں میں بیان نہیں کر سکتا۔ پھر مجھے جنت میں داخل کیا گیا تو دیکھا کہ اس میں موتیوں کے قبے ہیں اور اس کی مٹی مشک ہے۔"
