حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جَثَّامَةَ اللَّيْثِيَّ،، وَكَانَ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُخْبِرُ أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ وَهْوَ بِالأَبْوَاءِ ـ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ ـ وَهْوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَرَدَّهُ، قَالَ صَعْبٌ فَلَمَّا عَرَفَ فِي وَجْهِي رَدَّهُ هَدِيَّتِي قَالَ " لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ، وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ ".
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Narrated to us by Abu al-Yaman, Shu'aib informed us, from al-Zuhri, he said Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah informed me that Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) informed him that he heard Hadrat Sa'b bin Jaththamah al-Laithi (may Allah be well pleased with him), who was among the Companions of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), reporting that he presented a wild donkey as a gift to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) while he was at al-Abwa' or Waddan and he was in the state of ihram. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) returned it. Hadrat Sa'b (may Allah be well pleased with him) stated, 'When he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw the effect of the return on my face, he declared, "We are not returning your gift (because we do not want it), but because we are in the state of ihram."'
الترجمة الأردية
ہم سے ابوالیمان نے بیان کیا، ہم کو شعیب نے خبر دی، زہری سے، فرمایا کہ مجھے عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عتبہ نے خبر دی کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے انہیں خبر دی کہ انہوں نے حضرت صعب بن جثامہ لیثی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا، وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے اصحاب میں سے تھے۔ وہ بیان کرتے تھے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں ایک جنگلی گدھا ہدیہ کیا، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مقام ابواء یا ودّان میں تھے اور محرم تھے، تو آپ نے وہ واپس فرما دیا۔ صعب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے میرے چہرے پر ہدیہ واپسی کا اثر دیکھا تو ارشاد فرمایا: ہمیں تمہارا ہدیہ واپس کرنے کی وجہ یہ نہیں ہے (کہ ہم نہیں چاہتے)، بلکہ بات یہ ہے کہ ہم احرام کی حالت میں ہیں۔
