حَدَّثنا مُحَمد بن عتاب قَال حَدَّثنا أَبُو أيوب سُلَيْمان بن خلف قَال حَدَّثنا أَبُو عَبد الله مُحَمد بن أحمد بن مفرج قال أَخْبَرنا مُحَمد بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الرَّقِّيُّ قَال حَدَّثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرو بْنِ عَبد الْخَالِقِ قَال حَدَّثنا سلمة بن شَبِيب قَال حَدَّثنا عَبد الرزاق قال أَخْبَرنا مَعْمَر عَن الزُّهْرِيّ عَنْ عُبَيد اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبد الله عَن ابن عباس عَن أبي هُرَيرة أن رجلاً قال يا رَسولَ اللهِ رأيت كأن ظلة تنطف سمنا وعسلا والناس بين المستكثر والمستقل وإذا سبب واصل من السماء إلى الأرض فجئت يا رَسولَ اللهِ فأخذت به فعلوت فأعلاك الله ثُمَّ أخذ به رجل آخر فعلا به ثُمَّ أخذ به رجل آخر فعلا به ثُمَّ أخذ به رجل آخر فانقطع به ثُمَّ وصل له فعلا به فقال أَبْو بَكْر يا رَسولَ اللهِ بأبي وأمي دعني ولتعبيرها قال اعبرها قال أما الظلة فظلة الإسلام وأما ما ينطف من السمن والعسل فهو القرآن وحلاوته وأما المستكثر والمستقل فهو المستكثر من القرآن والمستقل وأما السبب الواصل من السماء إلى الأرض فهو الحق الذي أنت عليه فأخذ به فيعليك الله ثم يأخذ به بعدك رجل فيعلوا به ثُمَّ يأخذ به بعده رجل آخر فيعلوا به ثُمَّ يأخذ به رجل آخر فينقطع فيوصل له فيعلوا أي يا رَسولَ اللهِ أخبرني أصبت أم أخطأت قال أصبت بعضا وأخطأت بعضا قال أقسمت عليك يا رَسولَ اللهِ لتخبرني ما الذي أخطأت قال لا تقسموَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نعلَمُ أحَدًا قَالَ عَنْ عُبَيد الله عَن ابن عباس عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ عَبد الرزاق عن مَعْمَر ورواه غير واحد عَن الزُّهْرِيّ عَنْ عُبَيد اللَّهِ عَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم رأيت كأن ظلة تنطف سمنا وعسلا والناس بين المستكثر والمستقل وإذا سبب واصل من السماء إلى الأرض فجئت يا رَسولَ اللهِ فأخذت به فعلوت فأعلاك الله ثُمَّ أخذ به رجل آخر فعلا به ثُمَّ أخذ به رجل آخر فعلا به ثُمَّ أخذ به رجل آخر فانقطع به ثُمَّ وصل له فعلا به فقال أَبْو بَكْر يا رَسولَ اللهِ بأبي وأمي دعني ولتعبيرها قال اعبرها قال أما الظلة فظلة الإسلام وأما ما ينطف من السمن والعسل فهو القرآن وحلاوته وأما المستكثر والمستقل فهو المستكثر من القرآن والمستقل وأما السبب الواصل من السماء إلى الأرض فهو الحق الذي أنت عليه فأخذ به فيعليك الله ثم يأخذ به بعدك رجل فيعلوا به ثُمَّ يأخذ به بعده رجل آخر فيعلوا به ثُمَّ يأخذ به رجل آخر فينقطع فيوصل له فيعلوا أي يا رَسولَ اللهِ أخبرني أصبت أم أخطأت قال أصبت بعضا وأخطأت بعضا قال أقسمت عليك يا رَسولَ اللهِ لتخبرني ما الذي أخطأت قال لا تقسموَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نعلَمُ أحَدًا قَالَ عَنْ عُبَيد الله عَن ابن عباس عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ عَبد الرزاق عن مَعْمَر ورواه غير واحد عَن الزُّهْرِيّ عَنْ عُبَيد اللَّهِ عَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَن النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Attab narrated to us, he said: Abu Ayyub Sulayman ibn Khalaf narrated to us, he said: Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Mufarrij narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ayyub ibn Habib ar-Raqqi informed us, he said: Ahmad ibn Amr ibn Abd al-Khaliq narrated to us, he said: Salamah ibn Shabib narrated to us, he said: Abd ar-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar informed us, from az-Zuhri, from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah, from Ibn Abbas, from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah, I saw as if a canopy was dripping ghee and honey, and the people were between taking much and taking little. And there was a rope extending from the sky to the earth. You, O Messenger of Allah, came and took hold of it and ascended, and Allah elevated you. Then another man took hold of it and ascended with it. Then another man took hold of it and ascended with it. Then another man took hold of it but it broke, then it was reconnected for him and he ascended. Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of Allah, by my father and mother, allow me to interpret it. He stated: «Interpret it.» He said: As for the canopy, it is the canopy of Islam. As for what drips of ghee and honey, it is the Quran and its sweetness. As for those taking much and taking little, they are those taking much of the Quran and those taking little. As for the rope extending from the sky to the earth, it is the truth upon which you are. You take hold of it and Allah elevates you. Then after you, a man will take hold of it and will be elevated by it. Then after him, another man will take hold of it and will be elevated by it. Then another man will take hold of it and it will break, then it will be reconnected for him and he will be elevated. So, O Messenger of Allah, tell me, did I interpret correctly or make an error? He stated: «You interpreted some correctly and made an error in some.» He said: I adjure you, O Messenger of Allah, to tell me what I interpreted incorrectly. He stated: «Do not adjure.» This hadith — we do not know anyone who said from Ubaydullah, from Ibn Abbas, from Abu Hurayrah except Abd ar-Razzaq from Ma'mar. Others narrated it from az-Zuhri, from Ubaydullah, from Ibn Abbas, from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
