حَدَّثنا عَبدة بن عَبد الله قال أَخْبَرَنَا زيد بن الحباب قال أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ عَبد اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيدة عَن أَبيهِ قَالَ إِنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ صَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلاةَ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَرَأَ اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ فَصَلَّى رَجُلٌ وَانْصَرَفَ فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ قَوْلا شَدِيدًا فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم يَشْكُو أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي نَخْلٍ لَهُ يَعْمَلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم اقْرَأْ فِيهِمَا بِـ وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا وَنَحْوِهَا مِنَ السُّوَرِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abda ibn Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab informed us, he said: al-Husayn ibn Waqid informed us from Abdullah ibn Burayda from his father who said: Mu'adh ibn Jabal led his companions in the Isha prayer and recited 'The Hour has drawn near and the moon has split.' A man prayed and then left, so Mu'adh said harsh words. The man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) complaining that he had been working in his palm grove. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Recite in them [the night prayers] 'By the sun and its brightness' and similar surahs."
