حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ نَا عَوْنُ بْنُ كَهْمَسٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّوَّارِ مَوْلًى لِقُرَيْشٍ قَالَ نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَوْتِ فَلَمَّا شَقَّ بِبَصَرِهِ مَدَّ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ فَأَغْمَضَهُ فَلَمَّا أَغْمَضَهُ صَاحَ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ فَسَكَّتَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ إِذَا خَرَجَتْ يَتْبَعُهَا الْبَصَرُ وَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَحْضُرُ الْمَيِّتَ فَيُؤَمِّنُونَ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْفَعْ دَرَجَةَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فِي الْمَهْدِيِّينَ وَاخْلُفْهُ فِي عَقِبِهِ فِي الْغَابِرِينَ وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلَهُ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إِلَّا أَبُو بَكْرَةَ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ لَهُ طَرِيقًا عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ إِلَّا هَذَا الطَّرِيقَ الْمَوْتِ فَلَمَّا شَقَّ بِبَصَرِهِ مَدَّ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ فَأَغْمَضَهُ فَلَمَّا أَغْمَضَهُ صَاحَ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ فَسَكَّتَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ إِذَا خَرَجَتْ يَتْبَعُهَا الْبَصَرُ وَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَحْضُرُ الْمَيِّتَ فَيُؤَمِّنُونَ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْفَعْ دَرَجَةَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فِي الْمَهْدِيِّينَ وَاخْلُفْهُ فِي عَقِبِهِ فِي الْغَابِرِينَ وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلَهُ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَرْوِيهِ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إِلَّا أَبُو بَكْرَةَ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ لَهُ طَرِيقًا عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ إِلَّا هَذَا الطَّرِيقَ

Amr ibn Malik narrated to us, he said: Awn ibn Kahmas narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abi al-Nawwar, a client of Quraysh, he said: Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Bakrah narrated to us, from Abu Bakrah, may Allah be well pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, entered upon Abu Salamah while he was dying. When his gaze became fixed, the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, extended his hand and closed his eyes. When he closed his eyes, the household cried out, and the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, quieted them. Then he said: "Indeed, when the soul departs, the sight follows it. And the angels attend the deceased and say 'Ameen' to what the household says." Then he, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, said: "O Allah, raise the rank of Abu Salamah among the rightly guided, and be his successor for his family among the remaining, and forgive us and him on the Day of Judgment." This hadith - we do not know anyone who narrates it with this wording except Abu Bakrah, and we do not know of any route from Abu Bakrah except this route.
