حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ نا أصبغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ مُحَرَّرٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَقَدِمَ سَبْيٌ مِنْ بَلْعَنْبَرٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ سَرَّكِ أَنْ تَفِيَ نَذْرَكِ فَاعْتِقِي مِنْ هَذَا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ إِلَّا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ مُحَرَّرٌ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَقَدِمَ سَبْيٌ مِنْ بَلْعَنْبَرٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ سَرَّكِ أَنْ تَفِيَ نَذْرَكِ فَاعْتِقِي مِنْ هَذَا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ إِلَّا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَابِسٍ

Yahya ibn Mu'alla ibn Mansur narrated to us, he stated: Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he stated: Ali ibn Abis narrated to us from Isma'il from Qays from Hadrat Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him), he stated: There was upon Hadrat A'ishah a vow to free a slave from the children of Isma'il. Then captives from Bal-Anbar arrived, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «If it pleases you to fulfill your vow, then free one from among these.» This hadith — we do not know it to be narrated from Abdullah except from this route, and we do not know anyone who narrated it from Isma'il except Ali ibn Abis.
