وَأنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجِرَاحِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ شَاسَوَيْهِ ثنا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ السُّكَّرِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ أنبأ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ لَيْسَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ قُوَّةٌ لِمَنْ يَقُولُ إِذَا صَلَّى الْإِمَامُ بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَهُ يُعِيدُونَ وَالْحَدِيثُ الْآخَرُ أَثْبَتَ أَنْ لَا يُعِيدَ الْقَوْمُ هَذَا لِمَنْ أَرَادَ الْإِنْصَافَ بِالْحَدِيثِ أَنْ لَا يُعِيدَ الْقَوْمُ هَذَا لِمَنْ أَرَادَ الْإِنْصَافَ بِالْحَدِيثِ

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, from Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Jirrahi in Marw, from Yahya ibn Shasawayh, from Abd al-Karim al-Sukkari, from Wahb ibn Zam'ah, from Sufyan ibn Abd al-Malik who said: Abdullah, meaning Ibn al-Mubarak, said: "There is no strength in the hadith for those who say that if the imam prays without ablution, his followers must repeat. The other hadith is more established - that the congregation does not repeat. This is for whoever seeks fairness through hadith."
