وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبِرْتِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى أَثَرًا فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ إِنَّ صُورَةَ الرَّجُلِ وَجْهُهُ فَلَا تَشِنْ صُورَتَكَ

Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr informed us, Abu Abdullah al-Saffar informed us, Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Birti narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us from Ash'ath ibn Abi al-Sha'tha from his father from Ibn Umar who saw a mark and said: O Abdullah, the image of a man is his face, so do not disfigure your image.
