Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us: Abu al-Nadr al-Faqih informed me: Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi narrated to us: al-Qa'nabi [narrated] in what was read to Malik — (H) — he said: And Abu Nasr Umar informed me: Muhammad ibn Amr al-Harashi narrated to us: Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us; he said: I read to Malik, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let no one milk another's livestock without his permission. Would one of you like that his storeroom be come upon, his cache broken into, and his food carried off? For the udders of their livestock store their food for them. So let no one milk another's livestock without his permission." This is the wording of Yahya's hadith; and in al-Qa'nabi's narration it is "yuntatha la" (plundered).
