أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُقْرِئُ وَأَبُو صَادِقٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْعَطَّارُ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ ثنا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ دَخَلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ عَلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْعَاصِ وَغُلَامٌ مِنْ بَنِيهِ رَابِطٌ دَجَاجَةً وَهُوَ يَرْمِيهَا فَمَشَى إِلَى الدَّجَاجَةِ فَحَلَّهَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ بِهَا وَبِالْغُلَامِ فَقَالَ لِيَحْيَى ازْجُرُوا غُلَامَكُمْ هَذَا عَنْ أَنْ يَ��ْبِرَ هَذَا الطَّيْرَ عَلَى الْقَتْلِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ تُصْبَرَ بَهِيمَةٌ وَإِنْ أَرَدْتُمْ أَنْ تَذْبَحُوهَا فَاذْبَحُوهَا

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz, Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Hasan the judge, Abu Muhammad Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Muqri', and Abu Sadiq Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Attar informed us, they said: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Mukram Abu Ali narrated to us, Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Sa'id ibn Amr ibn Sa'id ibn al-As narrated to us from his father, who said: "Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) entered upon Yahya ibn Sa'id - who is Ibn al-As - while a boy of his had tied a chicken and was shooting at it. He walked over to the chicken and freed it, then came with it and the boy, and said to Yahya: 'Restrain this boy of yours from confining this bird for killing, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit that an animal be confined for killing. And if you want to slaughter it, then slaughter it.'"
