وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ السُّكَّرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنبأ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سَمَّى الْحَسَنَ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَأَنَّهُ اشْتَقَّ مِنْ حَسَنٍ حُسَيْنًا وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا الْحَمْلُ

Abu Muhammad al-Sukkari in Baghdad informed us > Isma'il al-Saffar > Ahmad ibn Mansur > Abd al-Razzaq > Ibn Jurayj > Ja'far ibn Muhammad > his father, from the Prophet (peace be upon him): He named al-Hasan on his seventh day, and he derived 'Husayn' from 'Hasan,' and mentioned that between them was only one pregnancy.
