أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا لَيْثٌ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَا ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ؓ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تَبْعَثُنَا فَنَنْزِلُ بِقَوْمٍ فَلَا يَقْرُونَنَا فَمَا تَرَى؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنْ نَزَلْتُمْ بِقَ��ْمٍ فَأَمَرُوا لَكُمْ بِمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلضَّيْفِ فَاقْبَلُوا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَخُذُوا مِنْهُمْ حَقَّ الضَّيْفِ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ

'Ali ibn Ahmad ibn 'Abdan informed us, Ahmad ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, al-Harith ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Layth narrated to us. And Abu 'Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu 'Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Shadhan and Ahmad ibn Salamah said: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Abu al-Khayr, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: We said: "O Messenger of Allah, you send us out and we stop with people who do not offer us hospitality. What do you think?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If you stop with people and they order that you be treated as guests, accept it. But if they do not, then take from them what is the right of the guest."
