أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ كَعْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ يُحَدِّثُ حِينَ تَخَلَّفَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُرِيدُ غَزْوَةً يَغْزُوهَا إِلَّا وَرَّى بِغَيْرِهَا
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan and Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, from Ubayd ibn Sharik, from Yahya ibn Bukayr, from al-Layth, from Uqayl, from Ibn Shihab, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Ka'b ibn Malik, that Abdullah ibn Ka'b said: I heard Ka'b ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrating about when he stayed behind from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) — and he mentioned the hadith — saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) never intended an expedition without concealing it by hinting at a different destination.
