And this is the most established hadith they have regarding it. The trustworthy one informed us from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, from Jarir ibn Abdullah who said: Bajila was a quarter of the people, so they were given a quarter of al-Sawad. They collected its revenue for three or four years - I am uncertain. Then I came to Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) and with me was a woman from among them whose name I do not recall. Umar said: Were it not that I am a distributor who will be held accountable, I would have left you with what was divided for you, but I think you should return it to the people. Al-Shafi'i said: In his narration, he compensated me from my right therein with eighty-some. And the woman said: My father witnessed al-Qadisiyyah and his share was established; I will not give it up until you give me such and such. So he gave it to her. Sufyan ibn Uyayna narrated it from Isma'il and mentioned Jarir's story. Hushaym narrated it from Isma'il and mentioned the woman Umm Kurz, who said she would not give it up until he provided her a docile she-camel with a red blanket and filled her palm with gold. He did so, and the dinars were about eighty.
