Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from al-Jullas, who said: I heard Uthman ibn Shammas say: Marwan used to pass through Medina. He said: He would pass by Abu Hurairah while he was narrating, and he said, "Some of your narration, O Abu Hurairah." He said: Then he went on. He said: Then he came back and said, "O Abu Hurairah, how did you hear the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, pray over the funeral?" He said: "You created her - or he said, You created her, Shu'bah was uncertain which - and You guided her to Islam, and You took her soul, You know her secret and her open affairs; we have come as intercessors, so forgive her."
