Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad who said: Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah as governor over Madinah. When he saw a person dragging his garment, he would stamp his foot and say: "The governor has come! The governor has come!" Then he would say: Abu al-Qasim (peace be upon him) said: "Allah does not look at the one who drags his garment out of arrogance."
