حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ وَصَفَّ النَّاسُ صُفُوفَهُمْ وَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَامَ مَقَامَهُ ثُمَّ أَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِيَدِهِ أَنْ مَكَانَكُمْ فَخَرَجَ وَقَدْ اغْتَسَلَ وَرَأْسُهُ يَنْطِفُ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ.

Al-Walid told us, al-Awza'i told us, al-Zuhri told me, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The prayer was established and the people arranged their rows, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out and stood in his place, then gestured to them with his hand to stay where they were, and he went and performed a ritual bath, his head dripping, then he led them in prayer.
