Abd al-A'la told us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, from Abu Hurayrah, that a man from Banu Fazarah came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "O Prophet of Allah, my wife has given birth to a black boy," as if implying he wanted to disown him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: "Do you have camels?" He said: "Yes." He said: "What color are they?" He said: "Red." He said: "Is there a gray one among them?" He said: "Yes, there is a gray one among them." He said: "So where did that come from?" He said: "Perhaps a hereditary trait pulled it out." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "And this one too, perhaps a hereditary trait pulled it out." Yazid told us, Ibn Abi Dhi'b informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, from Abu Hurayrah, that a bedouin from Banu Fazarah called out to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "My wife has given birth to a black boy," and he mentioned the same meaning.
