حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْجَزَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ قَالَ الْتَقَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ فَتَحَدَّثَا ثُمَّ مَضَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَبَقِيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَبْكِي فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ هَذَا يَعْنِي عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ مِنْ كِبْرٍ أَكَبَّهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فِي النَّارِ.

Marwan ibn Shuja Abu Amr al-Jazari told us: Ibrahim ibn Abi Abla al-Uqayli, from the people of Jerusalem, told me, from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman, who said: Abdullah ibn Umar and Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As met at al-Marwa and conversed, then Abdullah ibn Amr departed, and Abdullah ibn Umar remained weeping. A man said to him, "What makes you weep, O Abu Abd al-Rahman?" He said, "This one" - meaning Abdullah ibn Amr - "claims that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of arrogance, Allah will cast him down on his face into the Fire.'"
