Abu al-Nadr and Husayn narrated: Muhammad narrated from Sulayman from Amr ibn Shu'ayb from his father from his grandfather that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whatever is found in a commonly-used road or a populated village, then announce it for a year. If its owner comes (to claim it, give it to him), otherwise it belongs to you. And whatever is found in an untraveled area — then in buried treasure, one-fifth (is to be given as Zakat), and in lost property found in desolate areas, announce it for a year.
