Affan told us, Wuhayb told us, Muslim ibn Abi Maryam told us, from Ali ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Mu'awi, that a man prayed beside Ibn Umar and began fiddling with pebbles, so he said: "Do not fiddle with the pebbles, for that is from Satan; rather do as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do." He said: "Like this" - and Wuhayb showed us, as Affan described it: he placed his left hand and spread its fingers on his left knee, and placed his right hand on his right knee, and appeared to form a circle [with his fingers] and pointed with his index finger.
