Abd al-Wahhab ibn Abd al-Majid narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade muzabanah. He said: Nafi' used to explain it as: fruit on the tree being bought by estimating its yield in dried dates by a stated measure - if it turns out more, it is mine, and if less, it is against me.
